MY computer stays at the BIOS motherboard splash screen and doesnt let me boot

yesterday, my computer kept restarting on boot, so i managed to set to to boot with last known working settings. it worked until i turned it on again. now it just stays at the splash screen. i tried to set with last working known settings, but after pressing f8 it says loading boot menu (good) then stays like that foreever (bad) and same for when loading BIOS starup.
dont make me open up my copmuter cuz i dont know how to do all of that stuff. PLEASE HELP ME, IM SUPER WORRIED ):

xp 32 bit
4 gbram
asus
pentium processor
crap computer

You are going to have to open your computer...Sorry. Remove the ram sticks, clean the gold connections with a pencil eraser on both sides and replace. Don't be scared as it is already broken.

Thanks for the help. I will open my computer and try fix it. I dont get why my RAM sticks could be the problem becuase i never opened this computer so it couldn't have gotten scratched or something. Oh well, hope it works. Thanks again.

Dust can get inside a computer and cause a problem with the connection. Sometimes, just removing it and putting it back in will work but since your already have it out, you may as well clean the. A clean pc is a happy pc! Good luck and report back. The ram is keyed and only goes in one way.
