I have an HP G7 and When I would connect the HDMI cable between my laptop and the tv in the living room it would work perfectly. The TV in the living room where I live is a 32' Vizio. About a month ago I purchased a 32' Vizio off of Craigslist. I checked everything out about it when I picked it up from the owner. Brand new pretty much. No scratches, perfect display minus one small dot in the middle of the tv, but hardly noticeable.

Well after plugging in the TV in my room, I tried to connect my HP G7 Laptop through the HDMI cable and it wouldn't connect or recognize the TV. Not sure what i am doing wrong. I have tried a few things to fix it but nothing is working. Does anyone have any advice? Not sure what to do here.... i don't want to believe it's the TV especially when I know my Laptop will connect perfectly with the other TV in the living room.. Any suggestions or fixes? All i want to do is to be able to watch movies on my TV from my laptop, like have the TV as an extended display of my laptop. My PS2 works perfectly with the TV. Just the HDMI ports are giving me some problems. Please help!!

Well no. I don't have it connected with the HDMI cable. I have it connected through the normal AV cables. The AV ports for the AV cables work perfectly fine. Sorry i don't know why I mentioned the PS2 when it doesn't have to do with the HDMI cable port >.< Sorry

First thing to do is try something else in the HDMI port and see if it works at all.

I don't have anything else to plug into the hdmi port. I only have my laptop. I guess I could try my mother's laptop but not sure if she would let me. I guess let me try that and then let me reply once more.
