I have just done a reinstall of windows 7 32 bit on my dell m1330. first thing i noticed was that the 2 finger scrolling wasnt enabled so i checked the mouse properties but the synaptic tab isnt even there. device manager says that its only a ps/2 mouse. i tried installing the latest version of synaptics from their website but despite getting to the end of the installer and it showing a green check saying its finished, the 2 finger scrolling still does not work nor does a tab appear in the mouse properties. this is all after restarting the pc as well (the installer didnt prompt me to restart like it should have). i have been going mad trying to solve this on my own. i have tried many different versions one of which actually gave me 2 finger scrolling but the mouse movements were so laggy and delayed that i had to delete it. i would really appreciate any input! i would really love to be able to use this pc again and not be completely annoyed at my own failure to fix it xD P.S. when i reinstalled windows it said it was going to keep some of the old files idk if this is helpful or harmful or irrelevant. You should have installed the touchpad driver from Dell's website, not Synaptics website if that's what you did.
