I am looking for a pc build of about 400 dollars. I plan to play the older cods and would like to play Advanced Warfare at medium settings with a good frame rate.

After researching I have read the best bang for your buck is a g3258 and a gtx 750 ti. Any help is appreciated.

if your close to micro center try picking up the cpu there. the prices at micro center for some stuff is cheaper then online. myself i toss in a few exta bucks on the build. use a h97 mb that let you drop in any haswell or brodwell cpu when you have the funds.

No, you'll have to change motherboard, cheapest one would be - http://pcpartpicker.com/part/asus-motherboard-m5a78lmusb3 .

Do you want FX-6300? It would be slower than i3 in games...

FX-6300 is AM3+ socket so you won't be able to use it on a LGA1150 chipset motherboard. They will be same price though.

I recommend going the budget g3258 route with a h97 mobo so you can upgrade when you want to a new i5/i7 whenever. You are kinda limiting yourself to the fx6300 performance if you go AMD which doesn't have the same single core performance as intel. The G3258 will overclock easy to 4.2 on stock cooler and will outperform the fx6300 for less money!
