Hello

I am building a pc for gaming but will be used for mainly graphic design, 3D design and rendering and video editing.

Which would be better for storing files onto, a WD Blue or a WD Black?

I will have a SSD for storing the programs onto.

Hey there, g335!

I believe you should go with the WD Black because it's specifically designed for high-end rigs like the one you are building. Its purpose is to serve gamers' and creative pros' PC builds delivering high-performance while using your demanding applications.
You will be also satisfied with the capacities it has to offer, whereas the biggest WD Blue is only 1 TB.
The WD Black has a 5-year limited warranty, which definitely gives some peace of mind.
I strongly recommend checking the features of the WD Black here and see for yourself: http://products.wdc.com/support/kb.ashx?id=0lY3Kp
Here are the ones of the WD Blue as well if you want to compare: http://products.wdc.com/support/kb.ashx?id=IUWGfq

Hope this was helpful! Let me know if you have any other questions regarding the WD drives! :)

Hello

Thank you.

So the WD Black has some features the Blue doesnt?

Yes, there are. Unfortunately the 1 TB of both WD Blue and WD Black overlap in specs which seems confusing to you, guys! However, if you run them both side-by-side the Black should out-perform the Blue HDD.
Another thing that gives the advantage to the WD Black here is the dual-core processor, which is something that is not present in the WD Blue.

Glad I could help, g335! :)
