Hi everyone. Yesterday i bought a samsung 850 evo SSD to have alongside with my wd caviar black 1tb. I seted up windows on ssd and everything worked fine. I entered windows and changed the path directories for the downloads, music, pictus etc. folders from the ssd to the hdd... Now the problem.. i firstly dowloaded skype. It was saved on the hdd, i clicked on it and i intalled it normally... After that i try downloading vlc media player and obs(open broadcasting software). they are saved on the HDD, tho when i try to installing them by double click it shows me an error(nsis error. error launching installer)...But when i copy the file and transfer it to the ssd it runs normally... now what i can do to install things from the hdd without needed to transfer them all the time to the ssd? Sorry for my bad english, i am from greece!

The immage from the error...

Depending on your NTFS permissions you administrative account may not even see the drive. This can result in errors.

I think the defaults are like this.
Authorized users (Special Permissions)
System (full control)
Administrators (full control)
Users (read and execute | List folder contents | Write)

On top of this certain folders have different permissions, but that is not even an issue for a secondary drive.

Can I see the security tab in the drive in question.

i think yes because i installed skype and viber with no problem from the same path..

update... when i try to load the installer on the hdd i get the nsis error .. but when i move the file to the ssd it runs perfectly..

I get errors from network drives sometimes, but your setup looks perfect to avoid that.

In my case, the administrator account does not even see the network shares so that is how I get errors.

I have tried to reproduce this with the VLC installer and have been un-successful.

It seems to be a common problem too, but I am not sure how some of the workarounds they list in the internet make a difference.

You can look at this, it should be harmless.

Never saw a single folder level deeper make such a difference, but the non English characters may mess the programs up.

That would also indicate why the user on youtube seemed to get things working when running English (USA).

Can you post the non English part of the path so I can try to create a folder with that name to see how NSIS installers react.
