I have been out of the game for many years and my now adult children have got me hooked on Minecraft. I am looking to create a dual purpose machine. First to start a home server capable of hosting 50 to 100 people, then when the site gets established switching it to a gaming system and have the site hosted. I need to keep it under $1000.00.

My internet speed is great and I already have monitors but will need an operating system for the server.
