My mouse works with the UEFI BIOS of my Asus A88x-Gamer mobo since the first time I booted my rig. After updating my BIOS from a .cap file I downloaded from Asus's website, I can boot properly and my BIOS was properly updated, but my mouse doesn't work anymore in the BIOS environment. I updated from version 0301 released as the original BIOS on 2014/07/25 to version 0603 released 2014/12/15. Here's my setup:

  • AMD A10-7850K
    Asus A88X-GAMER
    Kingston Predator 8gb (2x4Gb)
    Samsung 840 Evo 128 Gb
    WD Blue 1Tb
    Corsair VS450
    Bitfenix Shinobi Window
I know that this is not a significant problem in a sense that my bios works perfectly and can be accessed using my keyboard, but I'm so annoyed by the fact that I can't use my mouse anymore to click things in the BIOS. Btw the cursor appears in the screen, I just can't move it. When I click my mouse, the cursor teleports to the upper corner of the screen.

Solution
The BIOS update may not support your mouse because it does not recognize it. Your solution is either try another mouse or wait for another BIOS update.

I have a keyboard that does similar when I cold boot the system. Otherwise, if I boot the machine up and then restart it right after the machine POST's, I can get in. I'm figuring that my system isn't reading the keyboard quick enough; and your issue might be similar.

Oh okay thanks. I thought it's the mouse also. Thanks!
