I've recently bought a cheap x360 controller adapter from dx. The problem is it does not work on my pc. It shows unknown device, I update drivers , and even after updating drivers it still does not sync. I've tried literally everything, EVERY possible solution on Internet, even using dualboot (windows 7 and windows 8.1 (64bit)), still does not work. It's a hardware problem, faulty receiver you might think, but on the laptop, it syncs instantly... I'm out of ideas... any help?

I can't remember the exact steps but I have an official Microsoft one and run into the same problem occasionally, so buying a new official one may not make any difference to you.

What I have to do is (on Win7):
Go to start menu
Devices and Printers
Right click the unidentified USB device
Select properties
Go to hardware tab
Select properties
Go to driver tab
**This is where I forget the exact steps**
You need to manually select a device driver, from the list that comes up it should be under the Microsoft tab and its called the "Xbox 360 Wireless Receiver for Windows". Install this driver and your adapter should work.

thanks for answer! But as I already mentioned, I've tried literrally everything, your solution is the most basic one, and it does not work for me, but thanks anyway!
