High ram usage on idle ~80%

Hi!

Here is my problem, when i boot up my computer my ram usage is about 15-20%, after about an hour of browsing my ram usage starts to climb up and at about 6-8h it gets to 80-90% ultimately leading up to 100% and crashing my computer. No error messages are given.

In task manager it shows that the highest ram user is google chrome at like 400mb and counting all tasks together only sums up to about 2-3gb. I should mentions that i have 12gb ram total.

I did some testing and it seems that if i just leave my computer on without even a browser running it will still crash at around the 10h mark. The crash does not happen in safe mode, and on idle in safe mode the ram usage is about 15% after 7h.

I have also noticed that if I have the ram occupied for long perioids of time (e.g playing minecraft with crap load of mods using a total of 8gb ram) the "extra ram" does not get used and it will delay the crash.

Reebooting the computer is my quick fix for freeing up the ram. At around 90% ram usage my non-paged ram is about 1000mb and paged 800mb.

I will be more than happy to provide u with more information if u just tell me what and how =) I am not that good with computers and mostly use this to browse and play games.

Windows 8.1 (originally came with 8, i have updated 8.1)
Msi laptop GT70 series
intel i7-4700mQ (no overclocking)
Nvidia Geforce GTX 770m 3gb gddr5
DDR3(L) 12gb 4GB*3
and some SSD and a hard drive

Edit: Oh and I probably should have mentioned that this all started happening a few months ago, i have checked everything i have downloaded/installed after that and even reverted back to an time before the crashes but no fix.

That's a very weird problem but it probably has a simple solution.

What programs do you have scheduled to start with the PC?
Because what safe mode does is starting the PC without any extra background tasks it doesn't absolutly needs. The indication that it does not make the RAM climb that way would indicate it is climbing because of some weird program you are running.

I have ran a crap load of virus scans and apart from cookies and some small infections my computer should be clean.

Run msconfig, and look at the startup tasks.
Uncheck anything that looks suspicious.

If you have no clue, arbitrarily uncheck half of them and see if the problem gets resolved.
If the issue is resolved, you can assume that the offending task is one of the ones you unchecked.
Repeat the process by eliminating half at a time.

Do this ^

Or, if you want to make it easy, install Ccleaner, there you can see all your start-up programs, easly turn them off and even just generally clean or PC which might solve your problem all together.

This seems like a good idea, but when u take in to account the fact that it takes atleast 4 hours to see if the ram usage is climbing, it feels like this might take awhile.. Will definetly do this once i find the time

I disabled all of them, reeboted my pc. but my ram usage is still growing. So the program eating up my ram was not one of them. All the other programs i basically need. My cpu usage went down 5% on idle though ;D so atleast some good came out of it.

Sorry it took me awhile. No viruses, I have now scanned with avast, malwarebytes and AVG nothing found. I have tuned all the startups on and off to no avail (took me a quite long time to see if the usage was climbing or not after each restart).

No backup software running as far as i am aware.

I downloaded RamMap and here is what it had to say about my ram usage: http://postimg.org/image/ywukm7xsp/
Any ideas on what this might mean?

Edit: At the time of this picture my ram usage is about 45% =)
