Hello tomshardware community,

My issue is; I have an radeon r9 270x as my main graphic card. I recently bought it and i gave my older one (radeon hd 6850) to my brother so he could play some games. Than I get his older card that is radeon hd 2600 pro. So I have 2 monitors both use vga and cards have dvi slots as you guys know. I have the dvi to vga converters but r9 270x dont have 2 dvi slots that i need so i want to use hd 2600 pro. I was using nvidia geforce 7200 for second display without a problem, i guess because nvidia driver besides amd wont made any problem. So i removed the nvidia and attached the radeon hd2600. Than it started the driver problems. By the way hd2600 is working on by itself.

So problem 1;

I tried to install latest amd driver (amd-catalyst-omega-14.12-with-dotnet45-win7-64bit) and tought maybe it could see the older card too but got BSOD while installing the driver (atihdw76.sys error).
I tried to install older driver but didnt get the display. I did alot of things but finally i deleted all drivers (with also driver sweeper) removed hd2600 pro installed latest amd for r9 270x again. After this here comes the second problem

Problem 2 (Main problem now);

After I installed latest driver for r9 270x (omega 14.12) i attached hd 2600
again and let windows install its driver from windows update. I couldnt get the second display again. So here is the error

(Pc is turkish sorry about that but i think you guys know code 19, I can translate if you guys want but shortly it says registry problem)

I hope you guys can help me

Solution
the 2 cards are incompatible. They will not work together. The 270X is capable of running 2 monitors and can do it quite well. I recommend getting the proper adapters for your needs.

WHat is teh exact make and model of your GPU so we can help you find the adapters you need?

Incompatible ? you mean i wasted my hours for nothing :( [2 hours maybe but again :( ] r9 270x has 1 dvi-i 1 dvi-d and and 2 hdmi ports as i see and only dvi-i works for me to convert to vga

OK you need 1 standard DVI- to VGA connector ( you already have ) and an Active DVI to VGA connector. The reason for the need for the active is one of teh slots only puts out a digital signal and needs to be converted to an analog signal. Because of the country tyou reside in I can only give you links to information about them and not a place to buy them, you will need to find that for yourself.

here is a link to what you need: http://www.amazon.com/StarTech-com-DVI2VGAE-1920x1200-Adapter-Converter/dp/B00C93JQXS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1423075634&sr=8-1&keywords=active+dvi+to+vga

i see you propose a dvi-d to vga converter but i searched for it before and it is so hard to find ( i couldnt find it ) By the way about compability issues. is it because i cant run 2 ati gpu drivers or is it about crossfire because i dont want to crossfire
