Hello Everyone,
I know this has been posted here but I haven't been able to find a solution that has worked for me.

I have an HP envy 15t laptop and this problem just started happening recently. If I leave my computer off overnight or if it is off for a few hours, when I turn it on again, there will be this loud buzzing sound coming from the fan and it stops after a few minutes or if I tilt the pc.

I don't have a disc drive so that doesn't seem to be the issue. I opened up the pc and tried to tighten all the bolts and thoroughly dusted out the fan but to no avail. Any help would greatly be appreciated. If anymore details are needed, just let me know, I'll try to get back to it asap.
Thank you in advance!

The fan on some laptops kicks up to full speed for a brief time when the computer boots, then comes back down.
If tilting relieves the sound I would guess that your fan is bad. These fans do occasionaly fail. I'm not sure how easy it is to replace the fan on that model.

Thank you for the quick reply. I figured it might be the fan after I tightened everything extra tight and blew the dust out but it was still making noise. I contacted HP about it and since I was out of warranty, all they really did for me was give me some tips, one of which was to run a hardware scan from the BIOS menu and everything came back good so I'm pretty convinced it's not the harddrive, probably bad bearings on the fan since the fan is still spinning and my computer doesn't burn up like some people with fan issues. I'll see if I can get a replacement fan and see if that helps. In the mean time, I would love any extra input anyone has on it.
