Hi i have a cat5e cable going into an adsl face plate , if i use a connecter to chnage the RJ11 socket to an ethernet socket RJ45 - will the speed be slower ?
Thank you

Hi

Is this wire carrying broadband telephone signals or Ethernet

I used to run 2 network signals over 1 Ethernet cable using a splitter at each end BUT it only worked at 10mbps
When the 10mbps hubs were upgraded to 100mbs swiches this stopped working

Ethernet speeds 10 100 or 1000 Mbps

The speed with be exactly the same it will just run DSL over a cable with a rj45 end on it. The ends on the cable really mean nothing. You could likely take everything apart and twist the proper pair of wires together and it would work.

Generally if you run DSL on a standard rj45 cable it uses the pair in the middle ie pin 4-5 to carry the signals. All the other wires are not used.
