Tried searching the forum by tags and found no similar inquiries. Will try to describe the best I can.

Since last night, I've been noticing some odd quirks and occasional flickering on my late 2011 iMac (Snow Leopard 10.6.8, 2.66Ghz i5 quad core, 4GB RAM, Radeon HD 4850 512mb RAM with the firmware update). The overall display is fine, but here are some quirky symptoms I've noticed:

-Apple volume display will flicker away now instead of fade
-Flash videos on Chrome will flicker, but not all of them (I've enabled and disabled hardware acceleration without improvement). In fact, most ads and text boxes flash and flicker as well.
-Quicktime videos won't display properly, but on reboot they do temporarily
-Odd garbled text/disappearances of items. For example, when I try to open System Preferences, all of the text is unreadable. When I minimize it and pop it back up, it displays fine. Same goes for Applications window. Screen grab below:

-At one point, my upper menu bar changed to translucent on its own. I reverted it back to white and it's remained that way since.

I've read scattered bits about logic boards (though I've had no startup problems), so not sure if it's that or maybe video card is failing (though the entire screen would be glitching/corrupted or horizontal lined). What I've seen doesn't seem to be related to PRAM either.

If this means I go computer shopping, that's fine. I was just hopping to figure out what the issue may be. Thank you!
