I've had this problem for months, I'm getting half of my performance in games and I believe it's a memory issue. I've bought new RAM as I thought it was the problem but when I went to play some games, I had the same problem.

I'm getting 60-80 FPS in games like TF2, CS:GO and barely 30 in DayZ.

Please help, I'm a competitive TF2 and CS:GO player and need every bit of performance I can get.

buy another DIM of RAM. preferably the same brand and model of RAM. then install it in the paired open slot on your motherboard. you can find out which slots are paired (if you have more than two slots) by consulting your motherboards manual.

In that case, just buy a 8GB kit of 1600 or 1866 ram. 1333 is slower than what is the standard nowadays (1600) and will hold the rest of your system back. Just get rid of it. You can probably sell it for like $15.

Either of these would work great:
1600mhz: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231428

1866Mhz: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231460

No, you can dual channel 2 sticks, you just have to put it in the correct slots
