Okay so need a bit of help, I just finished building my new computer, I have assembled all the parts and tried booting windows 7 from the cd drive but it said there are no drivers available and when I checked the BIOS the hard drive isn't being detected through any of the SATA ports, tried changing the wires but nothing works. I am using an msi z87 g55 motherboard and a seagate 1TB hard drive..

If you're sure you've plugged correctly both sata data and power connectors to the HDD and still doesn't get recognized in BIOS it could be a defective HDD.

Try the same cables and ports with your DVD drive, if it gets recognized its the HDD.

No PC to test it in no, I can hear the disks spinning and used three different SATA cables and two power cables but still no luck... was hoping there was a simple solution that I was just overlooking
