I am building a new small business server, and after going through two different X99 motherboards, I have concluded that very few companies want to release drivers compatible with Windows Server 2012 Essentials R2.

My question is is anyone aware of a board with an LGA 2011-3 socket and (preferably) DDR4 RAM, although I would be willing to downgrade to DDR3. I have an i7-5820K CPU, so it needs to be able to support Haswell-E. Most importantly though, it needs to be a board compatible with Server 2012. Please answer, as I need a solution quickly.

Thanks and I appreciate your input!

You are looking for a server motherboard that uses the Intel Xeon processor E5-2600 v3 family CPU Type. Unfortunately, you want to use an enthusiast CPU, the i7-5820K. You may want to do a little more homework on your project. Sorry I couldn't give you the answer you were looking for.

Yep. The build I have is working great. In addition to all of my RAID setups within the PC, I have 2 3TB WD external HDDs, and one is always unplugged (to prevent the encryption virus). I also have everything automatically backup up to Carbonyte, which is stored off-location.

Any other questions?
