Hello,
I am currently having issues connecting to the internet on my personal computer. It has always been on a wired connection to my ASUS router model: RT-ac66r. I also have my work client connected to the router, and that seems to be working perfectly fine (I am writing this post on here). Also, WiFi is not effected either as my phone is connected to it and working just fine.

The issue started when i rebooted my computer because I had done a malware scan. Once rebooted, the computer started up fine and even the network showed as connected. But when i opened up Chrome, all my pages wouldn't load. I then tried IE and that didn't work, as well. I cannot seem to figure out what the problem is. Hopefully someone here can. Please let me know if you need anymore information. I will gladly provide it to you. Thank you very much.

Solution
see if it a virus. boot into safe mode f8 with network support see if the the pc will connect. if it does then use msconfig and turn off everything in start up. boot into normal mode. rerun malware bytes...hitman pro and then good to bitdefender or avg or avasst do a online scan if you can if not download from another pc a rescue iso and scan the pc. if it clean check under networks there dns and ip info is set to auto. try reinstalling the network card drivers for your mb.
