Im looking to upgrade my video card im starting to create videos for youtube and it is putting my Radeon HD 7790 alot of stress. My question is what would be a safe PSU wattage? I have tried the calculators and they have told me 531 to 561 watts but something about that doesn't sound right at all.
Here is the power supply im thinking about getting is this overkill or just right?
Any help would be appreciated. Im not going to overclock.

Hmmm... That's a high quality PSU, but 860W is probably overkill for that card. Try the 760W version.

The R9 290X is a great card, but is there any reason you won't get a GTX 970? Same performance, less power usage. Either way, get a new PSU, as those Raidmax PSUs are of terrible quality.

here is a good choice, still more power than needed but a great price and even gold rated :)

the prices have dropped so much on 290x's i understand the choice. but the 970's have also come down and can be had for under $300 as well. it also uses a lot less power than the 290x so you could get a MUCH lower output psu with the 970 possibly saving money overall with both purchases. this of course depends on when you buy and sales. the sale on this antec 750w is still the best price i see for a quality unit over 550w which is what you would want for the 970 on that system. so buying now, i would still suggest this one either way.

well i did not really do a whole lot of research on comparing those two but since they are basically the same. i might just go with the gtx 970 and buy the Seasonic 660w. The antec is nice but i was kind of wanting modular PSU. But my only two questions is what is a good brand the gtx 970 is made by?

ASUS Strix. Great cooler, decent factory overclock, quiet, decent looking.

That's not a problem as long as you're only gaming at 1080p. Is that the resolution of your monitor?

the 970 has been the go to gpu since it came out. there have been no complaints with it and it pretty much walked on water and changed water into wine and could do no wrong.

then nvidia released the info on the vram issue and now all of a sudden people have all these imaginary issues that have never shown up before. it is still the awesome card it has been and always will be. people just love to hate and now they have a reason to hate. the amd crowd could not get to the keyboard fast enough to start the smear campaign........

Yeah, the issue really has been blown out of proportion. What's more disconcerting is the fact that Nvidia lied to their consumers.

i have not seen the press release myself but from what i have read, did they not put out the info pretty soon after they figured it out? or have they known all along and only now came clean? again i have not payed too much attention myself so not really sure of timeline for the issue. and nvidia did release the info on their own right? or did they put it out to beat another source to the punch? yah i do agree that had they known all along and hid it, that is a problem.

well i know some people just like to complain just cause they can ive had that happen where people said "oh this sucks and that sucks" n so forth and i bought it thinking im gambling and it turns out to be just fine and no problems. As far as my monitor setup i usually just use one 23.6" monitor but i have two more so i can get up to 5760x1080 in case i want to go bigger :)
