So I need a new power supply because my Ultra lsp 650 isn't going to cut it and is a pretty bad product all together. After doing some research I'd love some feedback or suggestions on which PSU to buy/use. I do need a 6 pin and 8 pin for the r9 280x (which my current PSU doesn't have.

note: The Antec EA-650 Platinum is a bit expensive but its $75 on amazon which is closer to my price range...would it be advisable to but that even if its used?

Are you sure that 650w is definately enough? I had problems with an old antec 650w not being able to cope with my own r9 280x and fx8350, could have just been age related though, but since swapping to a Corsair RM750W it's now fine, and yes, people say alot of bad things about Corsair PSUs being overpriced and rebranded, but the new RM line is amazing, and quiet with the 0rpm fans. I know it's a bit more expensive, but could be worth giving yourself the extra headroom to safeguard from future upgrades. https://pcpartpicker.com/part/corsair-power-supply-rm750

From what I've seen and heard a 650 should be fine and any wattage calculator I've used had had me having somewhere around 450 suggested wattage for the r9 280x and the fx-8350. Mind you I have used the 8350overclocked to 4.2-4.3 and I don't know if the gigabyte oc version would take more wattage.
