-EVGA 500w 80+ PSU
-GA-F2A88XM-D3H Mobo
-WD blue 1tb hard drive
-AMD Athlon X4 860K Black Edition CPU Quad Core FM2+ 3700Mhz 95W 4MB AD860KXBJABOX
-2 sticks of 4gb ballistics RAM
-EVGA GeForce GT 730 2GB GDDR5 64bit DVI/HDMI/VGA

So. I'm having that horrible frustration of doing something "easy" for the first time again. I have everything installed and I am currently stuck with powering on with nothing on screen. I have connected the basic monitor into the motherboard panel. Also the fans all run including the CPU cooler. The led for the power button lights up. But I also hear no beeps from the speaker. I checked and I'll check again the CPU and if its fudged up from installing but Idk.

I checked for bad mobo screw sets in case of any shorting too. Seems fine. But I was confused majorly of the PSU's power lead that is labeled "CPU" on two 4pin connectors. While the mobo has the 8pin socket labeled "Atx12V". All I can find is that they're... Essentially the same?

Thanks for the help.

Mike

first of all, make sure everything is connected properly. google a linus video, he show you step by step guide on how to assemble the parts. Second, use your MOBO manual for the LED and power switch connectors, they are confusing as heck. Lastly the beep is the sound made by the computer, not the speaker.

Thanks for the replies guys. I'll check out more videos. And yeah the speaker I installed (with the right polarity) hasn't made a sound. And yeah like I said, it all SEEMS to be powered correctly but I got nothing through the VGA on the monitor. From either the IP panel or the graphics card backing.

You will not be able to use the video outputs on the motherboard with your CPU. The motherboard has to be paired with an APU in order to use the motherboard video outputs. Your only option for video output on the system is through the GPU. We have a troubleshooting checklist for this type of problem in the stickies at the top of the forum. If you perform all the steps in the checklist it will help you narrow down what's causing the problem. There's also a link to the checklist in my signature.
