After i have taken out my Old HD and put in the New HD, what can i expect to happen once i boot up my PC with a new hard drive?? Will it be the exact same Process as when your first boot your newly built desktop? or will it be slightly Different.

Please help its urgent! :)

JUST TO CLARIFY. I dont want to transfer my files from Old HD To new one. I just want to start fresh again with my New HD, and do a fresh install.

Solution
That's basically what you have to do.

I guess you can add in there after booting the PC that you have to go into the BIOS to set it to boot from your CD/DVD or USB drive that has your Windows installation.
Well, if you're replacing the drive of a prebuilt then, no it's going to be completely different process since you'll need to reinstall Windows.

If you're replacing the HDD of a rig you built yourself you'll have to go through the same process of installing Windows like you did the first time.

Hi there

My computer was custom built, if that helps, plus apart from installing windows to the new hard drive? will i have to install the drivers of the mobo and graphics card again etc? also what comes first(im still new to this)

I have a feeling its like this but i might be wrong

Install HD
Boot PC
install windows
update windows
activate windows
install drivers for mobo and G card

Does that sound right?
