I'm along the line that esco_sid is saying. Your buying a non-overclockable CPU with an overclocking motherboard. You can save money by buying an H-series. There's no difference in performance between 1600MHz and 1866MHz RAM.

Also, the NZXT Hale series PSU's aren't terrible, but not good either ;). You can do better.

Other than that, solid build. Good job.

I don't like this build as much as the OP's because it cheaps out on core components. The case you choose is designed for entry level and cannot accommodate a 970 cooling or size wise. This is aside from the fact that your don't want your expensive rig in a cheap case. If you buy a good case to start, it can last multiple builds.

The SSD downgrade is pretty big too. Huge difference between the 850 and a value kingston drive. Same thing for the Hard drive. The latest western digital black drives comes with a long warranty and can reach up to 220 MB/s. Very impressive for a hard drive.

The power supply you linked is indeed good and that should go into the build.

I made some sacrifices true but they were necessary to get the gtx 970 in there if this is a gaming desktop hardware should be 1st not how aesthetically it looks that case is fine for a single video card just remove one of the hdd cages and its one of top rated budget cases as far as ssd well either get 240 kingston( honestly on paper it looks slower but in real world doubt you would notice a difference) or 120gb 850 evo or add extra $ as far as HDD well WD cost usually a lot more and seagate at $50 is fine 4thousand reviews on amazon cant be lieing but hey if you want to game on gtx 960 sure go with what is in original build i personally would go with myn at the $1150 mark

My final opinion is to invest extra $ and to this with top grade parts.

If you live near Microcenter do the $300 deal or asrock extreme4 is fine too

That's a rock solid build all around with no compromises. You can probably bring the price of the build down quite a bit if you look for sales or are willing to go open box. You can also ask around here too, people need to sell their parts and whatnot.

For example, here's a guy trying to unload his system. He's probably willing to negotiate on price.

Okay, So even after 'recent findings' of the GTX 970 I still believe it's the best card around and I believe this build is a quiet and cool build which suits a stealthy black. The green lighting in the case is also very pretty! See below

HH hit the nail on the head or at least i think but i would change that psu to the evga supernova g2 750. Its more watts then u need but the psu is just the best out there period. I have 2 and they are amazing.
