Hey there!

Ill go with a Intel® Core™ i7-5960X and a Asus Rampage V Extreme.

The Rampage V Extreme supports up to 3,3 GHz on ram and the 5960X DDR4-1333/1600/2133 so im a bit confused.

I know that i want to go with the Corsair Dominator Platinum DDR4's and eighter 64GB or 32GB ram depending on the MHZ / CL.

Overall i just want that my Gaming / Video Rendering pc benefits the most from it.

Yeah, you should be fine, these are some pics from another person, but click on the right arrow of the pictures until you see the red/black pictures, look at the 2nd one, just change the Overclock Tuner to XMP, and change the setting below it to whichever frequency you want. There's also another setting for frequency of the RAM below those settings if you wanna change that too, at least what I did and now they run at what I choose them to be.

Look at the 2nd black/red picture. Unless you already have seen the Rampage V...

Since you're already at the top.

64GB: https://pcpartpicker.com/part/gskill-memory-f42400c15q264grk

32GB: https://pcpartpicker.com/part/gskill-memory-f43000c15q32grk

I have these: https://pcpartpicker.com/part/gskill-memory-f42400c15q32grk

I have the 32GB but at 2400MHz, so far they have worked perfectly. The entry point of DDR4 RAM starts at 2133MHz, there is no lower than that, and that's what your/our CPU starts at until you OC them to achievement higher frequencies. I wouldn't get Corsair because the performance is pretty much the same and they charge quite a lot for a little extra or equal performance, unless you just want them for the looks of silver, lol.

You got my point pretty well, the esthethic of my rig is like number 1 priority for some reason. And the Corsair Dominator Platinum with the Dominator Airflow Platinum are just the perfect roundup. Here is a little list of RAM's i could get if it comes to 64GB lineups:

32 GB 2400MHz CL14
32 GB 2666MHz CL15
32 GB 3000MHz CL16
32 GB 2800MHz CL16

For 32GB i would stay with my 3300MHz CL 16's i guess.

I just couldnt find a cl 16 vs cl 15 benchmark thingy. Could you just update my knowledge a little bit if it comes to amount of RAM vs MHz vs CL in terms of useage?

I saw a graph where 64gb ddr3 did lower the time by factor 3.x compared to 16gb ddr3 ram but i have no idea if MHz could make a difference in rendering as well or if it is just about the amount. I want the best for my money that corsair can offer if it comes to my useage of the ram. Since DDR4 is pretty new and will least a bit of time and as you can see, you can still perform with ddr3 and you will be able to do it for a amount of time so i dont realy care about how much it costs if i can stay with it the whole drr4 generation since corsair gives lifetime warranty it should be okay.

Well, after some research i stayed with my 32 GB of 3300MHz Corsair Dominator Platinum. I guess i can use it pretty long int he lifetime of ddr4. Games wont use that much more and 32GB are okay, even if 128GB per DIMM will be the max in DDR4. If the endspeed will be around 4k im fine with 3,3k.

Anyways, my question now is, do i have to unlock it somehow on my rampage v extreme? I did ask a local retailer for a price offer and there tec teams did check my build and trolled me. Beside the fact that they sayd my fans wont fit in my case they told me that my ram would automaticly is throttled to 2400mhz.

RAM throttling? Haven't heard RAM being throttled before, but you can fix that by having a very good airflow in your case to keep anything from throttling. And as far as I know the RAM will automatically run at 2133MHz until you change them using XMP in BIOs, I just chose 2400MHz for mine, saved and reset and there they goes. But for the highest speed that you want, you may have to OC your CPU higher.

If i remember right manufacturers can define there XMP profiles by themself? So i guess if i put the 3,3k's in my Ramapge V with a 5960x and enable XMP and select the right profile i should be fine, shouldn't i?

Okay, below the title of "Rampage V Extreme Review - BIOS and Software" when you scroll down, look at the 2nd picture starting from the last one. So 2nd row and 4th picture. Although they didn't set it to XMP for us to see, but just change Overclock Tuner to XMP and there's a setting below that after you change it and just choose. I would take pictures of my own BIOs but my phone's camera is cracked so it's all blurry.

Ah well, ye i just wastn sure about the XMP. I did told that i just have to unable XMP to the guy on the phone and since he had no clue eighter he couldn't argue on that but i wasn't really sure since my highest ram was 1600 on my old rampage IV and i never had to deal with it.

So thanks for your reply.

Well, I haven't been up to that high of frequency yet since I don't exactly need to, it shouldn't be that difficult to reach it. I can't give you 100% guarantee because I haven't been there, but you shouldn't have problems with it when you OC your CPU. If you have more questions, you can ask Tradersman that's up there too if you want, I actually asked him here since he knows way more about RAM than I do, lol.
