Hello, I got a a Silicon Power S60 120gb to put my OS in.
I am transferring from a WD Black 1tb.

I was watching some tutorials and found the process easy enough.
I ended up using AOMEI Partition Assistant

However, when I use that option and click on the SSD (Unallocated space). It tells me, "Not enough unallocated space selected. Need an unallocated space at least: 655.56GB"

I was under the impression that these programs only select the OS in terms of it generally, not all my data! It's picking up every saved file (games, pictures, etc)

In the videos I watch, it ends up picking up a file no bigger than 20gb. However, on mine, it picks up all of the files.

I really don't know what to do as I am not experienced in storage and this is my first time.
Someone told me to partition the HDD so it only gets the OS. However, I'm not sure if this is true, works, or a way to do it. So any suggestions or tips help. Thank you :)

Also, some other info. I am using Windows 7 Ultimate 64-Bit and I did try Paragon Hard Disk Manager 15 demo, however, when I clicked it to start the migrate, it told me that it could not be done in the demo.

You really need to use an SSD migration tool such as Paragon SSD Migration: http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&uact=8&sqi=2&ved=0CB4QFjAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.paragon-software.com%2Ftechnologies%2Fcomponents%2Fmigrate-OS-to-SSD%2F&ei=E7nTVLT_MIyMNpeNgbgJ&usg=AFQjCNHztF7wm49tIarodGZ7Su8JCU4edQ&sig2=zbq8VKm2OPQ6hIohOQ9Tsg&bvm=bv.85464276,d.eXY

Just using a partition copy program can lead to all kinds of issues such as misaligned sectors and more. Plus an actual SSD migration tool will handle resizing the partitions and give you the options to exclude data you don't want copied.

Well I was wondering why exactly it was picking up data that wasn't needed.

I didn't want to spend more money on this but if it is needed, I will. Thank you for the information.

Also, if I were to get this program, what files would I choose that include my OS?
When using the demo, I saw the file Windows, and it was around the size of what I saw other videos to have their os. (20-30gb)

I bought it and I got the option to install certain files. So, I chose the Windows file ofcourse. And unchose all the other ones. It took a while but it did it.

HOWEVER, it ended up not recognizing it? Now the SSD not even showing up. So, I'm out of ideas and I bought the thing so I don't know. I have disconnected my SSD and everything is working fine. I might give it another try.

I still want to say thanks as you are the only one that responded.
