Olay so i am on a tight budget. My build includes a gtx 970.the gtx 970 alone made my budget exceed...so now i want to spend less on cpu...my question is....between the fx 6300 and the i3 4130,which exibits more power for current and future gaming and by how much fps: i am inclined towards amd because the i3 has just 2 cores and ive heard future games will benefit from more cores such as farcry4 (6300 has 6 of em)..... ....and will any of the two bottleneck the gtx 970........also how much in gaming fps performace will i benefit by spend 100 dollars more on the i5 4440 over the formers i know it varies from game to game but what would be the extreme difference in such as unity gta 5 witcher 3 like
Please note that ill be gaming at 1080p and am not going to upgrade the rig for at least 2 years..thank you in advance

If you want fx 6300 you will need also good mobo to OC it to bring more performance to your RIG so that will cost you more money cuz for oc you will need after market cooler.if you go with i3 and let say h97 mobo you can update in future i5.Atm i3 will play all games without problems, maybe some rly high cpu demanding games will get some fps dips but that is all.Going i5 4440 you wont see rly much difference in most single player games atm over i3. Most difference you will see in BF3 or 4.GTX 970 will max any game other there in 1080p without problems.
here your have Intel G3258 vs FX 8350 so it is 2 vs 8 core cpu in games on GTX 970

As you can see games who use 1-2 cores runs better on Intel but most of them are same or difference is minimal,So you can expect a bit better performance with i3 over G3258 but maybe in 1-3 fps.If you are fine with that go with i3,and save for 5th gen i5.

I honestly think that you should get an i5 4460 (it's like 3 dollars more expensive than the 4440). It will work best with your GPU and there will be guaranteed no bottlenecks.

P.S. Just to mention something about the i3 - it has 2 cores but 4 THREADS. The FX-6300 has 6 cores and 6 threads. Since the i3 is better apart from the cores, you might think they are pretty equal. Still, try to get the 4460 if you can and if not, get the i3 so you can eventually upgrade into an i5 - the FX-6300 socket is a dead socket, no new good processors will be made for it.

All depends from game.Games that use 1-2 core you will be fine,same performance with i3 and i5 and i7 but games that use more cores you will see impact on GPU usage and lower average fps,if you can go with i5 now no point in getting i3 dual core now in this age yes it has HT but it is still dual core cpu and FX 6300 is also like 3 core cpu with some sort of HT to act like 6 core.So if you can better stretch you budget for i5. This is just my opinion,so it will be best to sit down get paper and pen and write down all pros and coins for cpu you going to get and decided yourself.

my last question is will the i3 affect the performance of my gtx 970........and do you know of any games benchmarks between different cps that show fps diff when using same gpu as i couldnt find any......... thany you
