Hi i have a readynas duo and when transferring movies/photos from my laptop to the nas it takes an absolute age to complete for instance its been transferring the hobbit for the last 30mins and its still got 40% left and it was nearly 2 1/2 hrs to transfer a load of photos the other day surely its not meant to be this slow its like being back in the dark ages.

This is a LAN issue. What is the speed of the connection, and how is the notebook hooked into the network- wifi or wired.

Simplest this so to start with Speedtest.net and see what the overall connection with the internet is.
