Can I use a Mini PCI-E slot for mSata?

So I've been working on my Nintendo 64 HTPC for a while now, and the 2.5" SSD I took out of the casing was beginning to screw up (Getting NTFS Bluescreens, tried reinstalling windows, I know what I did was stupid). Now there was barely enough room in the case for that, so I wanted to use an mSata drive instead. I can only afford either a new SSD or Motherboard, however only the SSD is failing. The motherboard I have is a Gigabyte GA-F2A88XN-Wifi, with a Mini PCI-E slot. I was wondering, could I put a half-size msata drive in there, or would it not recognize it?

I am having a tough time understanding your question. A mSata will work fine in a mini pci-e slot. That is the only way those work... I have never done it myself though using data storage. I have installed wifi cards however.

Sorry, my question is that if anyone knew if the Mini PCI E slot on my motherboard could be used to support a half size mSATA, as I can't find any information from the manufacturer if it can use one for a boot drive.

Just because its a Mini PCIe slot DOES NOT mean it will work. My old Laptop has 3 mPCIe Slots and NONE of them will work with a mSATA. The motherboard has be have the ability to boot from them to begin with.
