I am currently looking to upgrade my AMD rig to a Intel rig. I have a mother board in mind but I really want to know what is the cheapest Intel Cpu that I can get that will still run 60fps+ when in the biggest & Craziest battles. Currently I have a AMD Fx 8350 with a Asus Sabertooth 990fx. It has done me good but need more power and I heard Intel is the gamers ideal.

Solution
Id say a highend i3 or one of the cheaper i5 and put more money to a better graphic card (nvidia 970 seem to be a sweet spot minus the bad pr on the last 512mb of ram).

Cheapest of the cheap would be the G3258.. Throw a decent air cooler (even a 212 would work) or a good AIO on it and oc to 4.3 or 4.4 and you got a $70 chip that rivals i7's in single threaded games.. Which planetside2 seems to be as its poorly optimized for multithreads.. Save money.. Go to i5.. Save money again.. get a i7.. Pretty good investment to begin with.. Beware though. Newer games are absolute Sh*T for dual cores as most of the newly released games require 6300's or i5's or something.

Overall though id just say this.. I went from a 8320 OC'd to 4.1Ghz and a MSi gaming 270X that got maybe 40 to 55fps with dips to 30 or below on Sniper Elite V2 Fully maxed AA and everything at 1080P To a Pentium G3258 oc'd on a Cooler master seidon 120v to 4.3Ghz and a GTX 760 that ran the game at the same settings at a constant 60fps no matter how gorey or intensive a scene got.. I was pretty astounded at how a $70 dual core beat a 8 core i paid like $140 for a year before that owned the amd rig lol.
