Recently I've been experiencing some stutters in certain games, and decided that it was time to finally switch from my AMD 8320's stock cooler to a 3rd party one, thinking that this might solve the problem. I installed the cooler after some trial and error, but even after reading some other posts made by people with similar problems, I am mystified. This is because when I attempt to turn on my PC, my motherboard lights up, the case, cooler and GPU fans all start spinning, and in general everything seems perfectly normal except for the fact that my screen is completely black. I have confirmed that the monitor itself is perfectly functional using another computer. Does anyone have any ideas as to what might have gone wrong?

Thanks!

It is possible the CPU cooler might be applying uneven pressure on the CPU and causing the CPU to tilt slightly and then causing intermittent or no contact between some pins and pads. Re-seat CPU cooler making sure there is not too much pressure on the CPU and the cooler is as level as possible with respect to the CPU/motherboard.

Possibly some wires or components knocked loose while installing the cooler?

Make sure all wires, DIMM's, and video card are inserted/seated properly.
