I connected my pc directly to my sony bravia tv, by an dvi-vga cable it worked before and now it stopped working.

A couple of days ago my pc's monitor broke, so i decided to connect my pc to my sony bravia tv and it worked. However it suddenly stopped working and i don't know why. The cable im using is a vga cable, with a vga-dvi converter to one end to connect to my pc.I thought the cable broke so I bought another one, but the problem still persists, what can I do?

I've tried restarting both the tv and computer several times. :pfff:

The only possibilities are:

1) Main PC isn't working (hard to troubleshoot with no screen)
2) GPU/graphics card specifically isn't working

3) cable (unlikely)
4) TV broken (unlikely)

I find it interesting that your monitor just "suddenly stopped working" and now you suddenly can't connect to your TV. It makes me think the PC (or specifically graphics card) is the problem and that perhaps your monitor and TV are fine.

Many computer parts work intermittently before failing completely.

I suggest borrowing another monitor, or better yet a different PC so you can verify things a bit better. As I said it's hard to troubleshoot further with no screen output at all.
