Okay. For starters, just purchased my Alienware 17 today. i purchased it used for a hell of a deal but i has one issue that ive tasked myself to fixing though i feel that it is beyond me now.
I should let you know i have disassembled my screen and disconnected what looked like a good connection and reconnected it and there is no difference in the flickering. Also that the flickering is persistant even in bootup and bios menu.
i7 4700MQ 2.40GHz
8gb ram
GTX 765m
windows 8.1
native resolution on this screen is 1600x900
if you want to know more let me know
So its flicking like crazy. intense to the point where it hurts to look at the screen. it isnt or atleast hasnt blacked out or blued out like some of the other posts i have read.
I have hooked it up to my tv via HDMI and its perfect.
heres what confuses me. The screen is as i stated earlier native 1600x900 at 60hz. Now i went into my Nvidia control and manually input a new refresh rate of 120hz. Now it is not gone, the flickering, but my screen is alot more bearable now, im writing this post on it actually. I want to know if that poses more questions or hopfully slims down some answers as i am out of luck now, only thing i can think of next is to replace the screen.
