Title. Where I live, computer parts are usually very expensive- the 970 costs 480$. The R9 290 is an exception- it costs 360$, same as a 970 in the States. Now, I can either buy the 970 in the states, but no warranty and so on- or buy the AMD card where I live and still get pretty good performance and warranty.
I can buy in April though, so by then the 300 series might be released.

After having few problems with some stuff (SSD and a water cooler) , and a broken Canon 5D Mk3 (that had to be fully replaced), i can tell you that warranty makes up for all the money in the world.

The 290 if with custom cooler (never ever buy 290 with reference cooler, you`ll regret it) is quite a powerfull card, even though the 970 edges it out. But if you can afford to wait, then just sit tight and see what the 300 series bring to the table, if you buy now a 970 or 290 in 2-3 months you might regret it when the 300 series comes out.

I would hold on to your GTX 660 until the 300 series comes out. Then you can see where all the cards fall and get the best price to performance card available.

I might even sell my 970 if the 300 series is powerful/efficient/affordable.

i would wait, but if you dont want to wait i would either grab a 970 or a 290x, similar price and theres a good 290x on sale for $299. hopefully the hype and rumors are true about the 300's from amd i may do as the guy above is thinking and sell the 970 for it.
