Hi Guys.

Considering buying a PC (I will want to use it for gaming) a friend of mine is selling the below setup:

Dual Monitors: - 21.5" Hanns G LCD and 13" Dell LCD

Windows 7 Professional (64bit)
Intel i5 3.3GHz
1TB HDD
4GB Ram (space for up to 16GB)
DVD Drive

I want to know what this kind of thing is worth second hand if I was to buy it. I would need to buy a good graphics card but that's about all I know.

Is it worth buying and what kind of price point?

I'm trying to find out and will update shortly, in terms of price I'm thinking of offering maybe £200 and seeing what he says, I know I'll need to spend maybe 100 on a graphics card and maybe more RAM? Judging from what people have said to me, don't really know much myself...

I'm told PSU is 430 and it's a gigabyte motherboard. If I can get it for 200 what would you recommend I purchase additionally to bring it up to scratch. I want to be able to play most games without having to worry but I'm not expecting to be able to play everything on max settings or anything.

Maybe the 960 would be good and get another 4gb of ram, usually I wouldn't recommend the 960 but the psu is a little small and it's still a good car.

Thanks for the help, I've managed to get it for £200 and I will take your recommendation on the 960, are there any places I can get one fairly cheap I'm seeing £179 most places I'm looking like Amazon etc also with regards to adding RAM how do I go about it?

This is £160 from aria if your interested and for the ram I suggest another 4gb.

although if you know the type of ram in the pc it would be good to keep it the same.

Get an XFX 550W or Seasonic 520W power supply.

With his budget I would say that although it wouldd be a nice upgrade it wont get any more performance in the pc. The 960 is very power effiecent and it shouldn't put much pressure on the psu.
