Hi all

I am after some PSU advice

I currently have an old Packard bell pc (5 years old) running as a home server for media streaming / file storage. I don't have it on all the time, but when it is it is quite noisy.

I thought it might be the cpu fan, but after switching that for a silent fan I have come to realise its the PSU so I am after some advice on getting a new one.

Ideally it would be efficient and silent, however cost is a factor. Searching online for cheap PSUs you can find them but are there but are they any good?

The existing PSU came with the PC and is rated 230w. It is currently powering a 120gb SSD and 600GB HD, however I am looking to add at 2 x 3 or 4 TB soon.

What would people recommend?

Thanks

Hi - I agree with geo & only add that Seasonic also offers 300w good quality PSU's in form factors smaller
than ATX/PS2. Plz check your documentation if you have it or measure the PSU & post measurements here.
