Hi all, I've recently been dabbling in computers and stuff of the sort and built myself a new rig (Zotac gtx 970, amd fx 9590, 990fxa-ud3 mobo, 16gb ram, corsair cs750m psu) and I've been searching around and found that the 970 and 980 tend to be good overclocks, however I am totally clueless when it comes to overclocking anything which is why I'm here

What software do I need to overclock and what would you recommend my overclocks to be for a first-time overclocker?

Thanks:)

This is a good guide: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fyk5DCladcY

There are the must have software:
1) GPU Z
2) http://event.msi.com/vga/afterburner/download.htm

We can't recommend the clock settings because every gpu is different. USe the guide video above and go in small increments to see how far your GPU can be pushed. However, don't try any BIOS reflashing etc because it has a high risk of bricking your GPU. Don't also push it too hard because your PSU is not the best.

So far I have got it stable at a 204mhz increase on the core clock and a 99mhz increase on the memory clock increasing it from a 34600 score on 3d mark vantage to a 36180 score, I don't think I'm going to go any higher than that but thank you for your help
