I recently got in all my parts for my computer and built it but i still have no OS. I have several laptops laying around, the one i'm planning on using if i can is windows 7 64bit. I ordered a cable that can connect a laptop hard drive to ssd via sata i believe. Is there any way i can connect my laptop hdd directly to my ssd and transfer the os or could i do it with an external? I also have the disk my ssd came with which is a 850 evo. Thanks, hope you can understand that.

Unless you have a retail version of Windows 7 installed on one of those laptops, and you will no longer be using it, you can't move the license from them. The systems with those Windows 7 stickers from OEM systems like Dell, HP, etc... are not transferable to other systems at all, even if the original computer is shredded and burned.
