Swap motherboards w/o re-installing Windows 7?

I'm going to swap my x79 LGA-2011 motherboard and CPU for an x99 build. Is it possible to somehow swap motherboards without re-installing Windows 7? Maybe I could somehow install the x99 drivers while still running Windows 7 on my x79 rig? I don't want the hassle of re-installing my games, or worse yet, having to re-download 20+ GiB's of Origin and Ubisoft games.

It's possible with a hirens bootcd - just boot into the minixp, run the "repair hdc" app on there and reboot. I've had this work from intel to intel machine, but never intel to amd or amd to intel.

Your best bet is to partition your hard drive with your games on one part and windows on the other. When you have done this, reinstall windows and use the partitioned hard drive with all your game son it. Your other option is to get another hard drive or solid state drive and move your games over on to it.
