My best answer is to invest in a cheap low to mid-end PC that can run games at desirable framerates that is also within your budget. Then over time, you can choose to upgrade parts one by one, or all at once. This in the long run is a superior option to trying to upgrade a laptop's GPU. And also, there are very good builds for around $400-$600 that can run many modern games at medium to high settings at 60 FPS :)

It may very well be possible, but judging from your specs I can see that you have a laptop, and it is pretty difficult exchanging parts on laptops since usually the only components that are easy to access are the sticks of RAM. So I would say even though it's possible, you shouldn't bother.

unless you brought a laptop with the specific intent of being able to upgrade the gpu then you won't be able to. Also going from a 635M to a faster card would generate a lot more heat and this would cause it to throttle.

you can't be a hardcore gamer on a laptop.
