Whenever I attempt to install WIndows 8.1, It gets past the "getting files ready for installation" stage and then usually BSOD. The message I have seen is "kernel_security_check_failure".
I currently have a 2TB HDD installed and a PNY 120GB HDD installed(both SATA are disconnected during the install for obvious reasons).
I was able to successfully install Windows 8.1 via USB a day ago, but I kept getting errors when opening new tabs in IE and whenever I opened any form of File Explorer, it would crash immediately.
I am now attempting to install via DVD+R.
I have a 550W PSU. Could this be the problem? Can this amount of power not support 3 hard drives?
Edit: After unplugging the power from all other drives EXCEPT the one I'm installing Windows 8.1 on, I was able to get it installed. Could this point at me needing a more powerful PSU?
