Yesterday as I was gaming on my PC, the power went out, instantly turning off both my PC and monitor. Since it was late, I didn't turn it on till the following night. When I flicked the power switch, the PC's fans, lights and disk drive started going, but the PC failed to boot. I have had these symptoms before, when plugging my PC out for travelling etc., however , it is generally fixed within a few hours, but not this time.

The PC isn't too old and was only purchased and custom built around two years ago. The specs are:
Asus m5a97 ego r2.0 mobo
Amd fx6350 cpu
Ms-tech 650w psu
Any help would be extremely appreciated .

Solution
Is there an error message, or does it just sit there with fans and LEDs on?
"Ms-Tech 650w psu" sounds like a generic. No doubt missing filters, if the power outage was accompanied by any kind of surge or spike, it may have damaged attached parts.
If it comes on and you get an error message, please post it for us.

So, I tried both step 2 and 3 to reset the bios; no luck. The PC still doesn't boot and isn't showing any error messages, but just sitting there. While looking into my Pc, I found that the motherboards light is green whereas the CPU and RAM have red lights.
And finally, I have no idea what model the PSU is, sorry.

Try unplugging everything except cpu, motherboard and one stick of RAM. See if it gets any further. It won't boot properly without the GPU of course with that FX processor but you might get an error beep or some other sign of life!

I tried unplugging everything except for the essentials, but still no beeps like I normally get. I noticed this time that there was no sound of the hard drive spinning, like there normally is.
The label on the PSU is ms-n650-Val.

If you unplugged the hdd as you should have done it won't spin up.

That really isn't a good psu at all. I wonder if your motherboard even has a speaker....

Try plugging in 1 ram stick, gpu, leave cpu and cooler plugged in and try again. Remember to connect the monitor back to the gpu

Tried that method too and still nothing.

Do you think the power supply is the problem? Or could it be the CPU or mobo? Btw, I'm pretty sure my mobo has a speaker cos it usually beeps when it boots.
At this point I just wanna know what part is the problem so I can replace it :/

Glad it's working but you must have s loose connection or something somewhere. If it happens again, closely examine all your cables. It can happen with cheap PSU's that the wires do not connect properly in the plastic plug at the end. The big 20+4 plug that goes into the motherboard is particularly susceptible to this.

Like I said before, I'd really think about getting a better PSU for your machine.
