I have a Dell Dimension E520 that came with a Pentium 4 531, I upgraded it to a Core 2 Quad Q6600 http:// which is also 64 bit, but is it worth upgrading to 64 bit Windows besides the RAM, although I don't even thick the Dell board even supports more than 4GB anyways?

Your vista 32 bit license is also good for 64 bit.
But, with only 4gb of ram, I would not try to change.
64 bit windows uses more control block space so you will actually have less useable ram.
And... I don't think I would put more money into such an obsolete pc.
It was great in it's day, but no more.

if you aren't going to use more than 4GB of RAM, then you're right in saying there's no point in getting 64bit Windows, but since they're the same price there's also no reason to buy 32bit Windows.

Also please don't get Vista

It was $25 for the CPU, so I went ahead and did it, and it's just being used as a daily driver. But if no CPU performance is being gained from 64 bit, I won't bother.
