Approximate Purchase Date: e.g.: this week (the closer the better)

Budget Range: Approx $500

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Mostly for gaming and everyday usage

Parts to Upgrade: CPU/MOBO maybe an SSD

Location: City, State/Region, Country - New Jersey, USA

Why Are You Upgrading: I originally built my computer with 2 hand me down parts( CPU / MOBO ). However, they have died after approximately 3 days of use. I will be purchasing a new Cpu and Mobo. I am also debating getting an SSD. After doing some research this is what i have come up with. However... my friend's advice is conflicted and i need more opinions. Someone told me that Asus build quality has fallen in the last few years and that i should get a gigabyte MOBO. Also im getting alot of crap about the SSD and theyre saying that i should just get the samsung 840pro but idk if the price difference is worth it?

Anyways thanks in Advance

So you already have all of those things except the cpu/mobs, and ssd?

You don't NEED to get such as expensive motherboard. Asus still pretty much makes the best mobos but the other main brands are very close. I usually recommend whichever is the best deal at the time. The i5 you selected does not overclock. Was that on purpose?

There's no way I would pay an extra $60 for the Samsung 850 Pro

Sorry for the confusion, I have all of the parts listed except the CPU, MOBO, and SSD. And I didnt know that the cpu did not overclock (i am a complete noob). Ive immersed myself in as much research as i could but im still learning >< sooo much to learn.
