ps3 to monitor using dvi

hi
i moved last week and i dont have a tv and the only thing that i have is a samsung syncmaster 193p plus and i tried connecting my ps3 superslim to it via hdmi to dvi cable and it doesnt work. the only thing i see is just white screen(itried holding the button till i hear 2 beeps)

Your monitor has an older uncommon resolution. In your PS3 settings you need to uncheck 1080p output, most likely 720p too. What I believe is happening is the PS3 is outputting an unsupported resolution to the monitor.
