I just updated Skype app from app store on my windows 8 Dell inspiron,it asked me for a restart and after I restarted it takes up login credentials welcomes and then shows up a black screennwith a cursor.All my data is in c drive I can not reformat.Please give a solution

see if the pc fell over to onboard video port. if there is none then force safe mode f8 then do a system restore.

If you can bring up the task manager, try that and see if "explorer.exe" is running. Try stopping that process, then starting it again.
If that does not work go into your registry if you can, HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Windows NT/CurrentVersion/Winlogon then make sure the shell file has the data "explorer.exe"
