So im on a tight budget and ive done the math and I wont be able to afford all of my parts from retailers like newegg or ncix, even with the help of pcpartpicker. Now I have 2 options, keep saving for another 3 months, down grade my parts and get less performance but get the pc now, or buy some stuff (like the gpu for instance) off ebay for ridiculously low prices. were talking canadian dollar by the way so taxes are also taken off by ebay. I would go with the ebay route, but i feel its kind of sketchy, and if something doesnt work it will be a pain trying to return it or get an exchange. What do you guys recommend?

Hello... I buy and sell on EBAY... You have to make sure they have a Good Rating, Good pictures, and state working order.
You can also click on their rating to see their past history and comments from buyers.
Typically I sell AS IS, with good pictures showing a working OS with it....You can also request more information/pictures from them with fast respones back... if it is a Auction.
It is a wonderful place to get other peoples high END GPU/CPU 's at low cost, as they upgrade to newer models.

I personally woldent buy a used gpu but i know some people that do it and dont have any problems at all. Post a link to the gpu you are thinking about buying on ebay and ill let you know what i think. I use ebay quite a bit and i have never been ripped off.

I wouldn't recomend it since you don't truly know what your buying until you get it and can make sure it works properly. At least if you bought pc parts from someone across town or something you can have them show you it before you buy. I'm sure the majority of ppl selling stuff on Ebay are legit and the products are good but at least for me its not worth taking that chance, although I do think Ebay has some kind of protection policy for its members (buyers & sellers).

I probably wont buy the graphics card off ebay, because it will be the hardest thing to loose and replace if it doesnt work. What are the things that I could buy off ebay and not have to worry too much about? I want to buy an ssd off there and I found one for $38 CAD ; http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Crucial-CT240M500SSD1-M500-Internal-Solid-State-Hard-Drive-240GB-2-5-NEW-/121563509656?pt=US_Solid_State_Drives&hash=item1c4dbff398
Maybe windows as well if there are good deals for it.
CPU has a chance of coming with bent pins even with the trusted companies so I dont think Ill buy it off ebay. here is my entire build, I have $700 saved up
http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/user/MLGMOE/saved/xB3dnQ
Windows and a computer screen are things I still need to buy so that brings it to around $1000. Not sure where I can skimp to get it down to $700

Hello... Modern CPU's have no Pins... I have bought 1155 xeon's- i7's for around $200. http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_odkw=E3+1240+v2&_sop=15&_from=R40%7CR40&_osacat=164&_from=R40&_trksid=p2045573.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.H0.XE3+1230+v2&_nkw=E3+1230+v2&_sacat=164
The thing with EBAY is getting those late model parts... right now all 1155 models are a great buy vs 1150 models.
http://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu_lookup.php?cpu=Intel+Xeon+E3-1230+V2+%40+3.30GHz
And you will not Lose very much performance vs price here.

I would Buy from that person on EBAY... but i would not consider/buy that listing due to High shipping costs? unless the total is a great deal over all... that item weighs less than a pound and is a small box size.

Im going AMD so there is pins which I dont need getting bent. Id go intel but its too much money for an i5 or i7 and I wouldnt spend that much on ebay anyways. My maximum for ebay is $100.

Hello... LOL... I would never build you a Computer with that CPU... the same MB for your i3 would be able to use a i5 or i7 in it... "can you say future proof? OR "value for your $$? http://www.vuugo.com/product/asearch?path=156_60_93&sort=p.price&order=ASC&filter=ATTRIBU=LGA+1155+%28Socket+H2%29=55=Socket+
