Hi Everyone, another graphic card question.

I have just purchased the Radeon XFX R7 250 1Gb DDR5 graphics card. I installed this in my PC which is a Lenovo H405 but I can not get the second display to work. I am trying to hook up a VGA projector via a DVI-A to VGA adapter. Is this the problem? My card looks like it has a DVI-I output which my previous card had as well but this one seems to be giving me some problems.

I only have a VGA monitor and a VGA projector so I don't have a way of testing a straight DVI-DVI connection to verify the adapter is not the problem.

I have installed the drivers and both the monitor and projector work if plugged into the available VGA port but I can't seem to hook both up.

Any suggestion? Need more information? Ask away....

Solution
You Have A DVI-a To VGA Adapter You Should Confirm Whether Your Card Has DVI-i,DVI-d,etc. And Then Accordingly You May Get A Compatible Adapter

I was not too clear. The port on the card looks like DVI-I (same as my previous card) however no where Cani find an exact spec telling me so. It has all the aspects of a DVI-I connectin so hooking a DVI-A adapter should work.

Is there anything that would make this card incompatible with my system? There s no place for additional power hookup and it fits snugly into the motherboard slot.

I am lost. Wonder if I should just turn it for a different model.

And from what I have read ... DVI-D cannot be converted to VGA nor would my adapter fit into the port (since the pins are different) so I believe the setup is correct. Just something not adding up.
