Hi guys I want to overclock my apu for more demanding games such as GTA 5 when it comes out and right now it has a 3.7 ghz speed and I want a 4.1 / 4.2 only if it is safe and will ensure the life span of the apu will remain high along with the temperature being low. I do not care about the noise since this is not an issue. I've found a website to help me and you guys decide if it is safe to overclock and how to do it!

http://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/Bulldozer/AMD-A10-Series%20A10-6700%20-%20AD6700OKA44HL.html

My APU having a turbo frequency of 4300. Do you think I can turn this off and over clock the normal speed (3700) to 4.1 / 4.2 and keep the turbo speed while sustaining stability ? Also what voltage would I need ?

The maximum operating temperature for my APU is 71.3 degrees celcius

Cheers guys for all your help and support and thank you in advance since this is a great website for technology type questions !! :D

1) What is an APU... or do you mean CPU?
2) It would be hard to determine "Safe" because it is up to you. When overclocking it is never safe. Overclocking can cause damage whether it be minimal or major.
3) I would test your CPU using CPU-Z. Your CPU has been used for overclocking but temperature is one thing that you should be aware of with overclocking. The noises are actually very important because if you are using fans and your overclocking you would be able to tell if it is going to have a problem just by weird noises.
4) I would 1, water cool if your overclocking 2, Dont let your CPU get over 70 degrees C

APU is a CPU with an integrated graphics 6700 series without the "k" meaning its a apu. Watercooling takes too much money since my rig is a budget build.

Ok I wasnt understanding the APU thing but I still understand your problem here. But I have done some research and people of the web say its a good processor for overclocking, you just need to monitor temp. So what I would do is go ahead and overclock it but just watch your temp. Also every article I read about the processor being overclocked it was water cooled so by keeping that in mind it was tested in a great condition since the water cooling was keeping the processor under a normal temperature.
