Hello,

So... I built a new PC yesterday and spent most of today updating windows, downloading drivers, Installing programs etc. Then I decided to have a look at the bios and see what settings I could play with. The first thing that caught my eye was Fast Boot. There were two options; fast boot and ultra fast boot. Obviously, I picked ultra fast.

From what I can tell, the motherboard thought it would be a good idea to disable all the USB ports until windows has loaded. Which renders me unable to press delete and access my Bios again...

I've tried resetting and powering off and on numerous times whilst hammering the delete key but the windows 8.1 logo loads almost instantly and my keyboard seems unresponsive in the short time before that.

There has to be some way to get back in to the Bios, surely? Or just a way to reset the Bios to defaults without accessing it?

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. If you need more info, just ask.

Thanks.

I did consider that. Will it simply reset the Bios to defaults? I mean it wont cause any problems or corrupt anything?

I just took it out and left for about 5 mins whilst I got a drink. Put it back now and it's the same. No sooner have I let go of the power button, the windows logo is up. Should I try leaving it out longer?

Thanks.

I tried, now the computer doesn't boot at all.
I see for less than a second the gigabyte screen and then nothing.

Any ideas?
thanks
