quick question about running Doom 3

Hi Guys,
I bought Doom 3 (BFG Edition) PC, without realising it wont run on XP :eek: I understand the normal version runs on XP, the thing is as I'm on payg internet at the moment I don't want to use steam,and I only play games in single player mode

The original Doom 3 came out just a year after Steam was first released, and at that point Steam barely had any third-party games on it. So no, it doesn't use steam. :)

yeah planning on updating, use my laptop mostly for work etc but that was never for gaming, as i said i play single player games not on the internet

Okay, and that's fine... I mostly play single player games too.

That doesn't mean that using XP isn't still a bad idea. :p

But since the copy of doom you bought doesn't run on XP and you don't want to buy the original game, I'm not really sure what your question is... ?
